Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart says that he is looking forward to seeing Barcelona win the Champions League final on June 6.

The Catalan club will be playing against Juventus in the final at Berlin. Barcelona are hoping to become five-time European champions with a victory whereas the Italian outfit are still searching for their first win in this competition since 1996. They have already suffered defeats in the final on two occasions and will be hoping for being third time lucky.Hart, though, says that Barcelona will be the team he will be supporting on the night of the big occasion and it is primarily because of their superstar Lionel Messi.

The England number one has come up against Messi already this season. Despite playing extraordinarily well,Hart was badly let down by his teammates. His second leg display at the Camp Nou earlier this season was especially excellent. It was only down to the goalkeeping byHart that the game finished as a 1-0 defeat for the Premier League team. The aggregate loss of 3-1saw them knocked out of the competition at the last 16 stage once again. City have now failed to reach the quarter-finals in all of their Champions League seasons.

“I hope they win the Champions League, and a lot of it will be down to Messi. We got beat quite comfortably over the two legs, it is fair to say. We battled hard to get to through the group stage and we didn’t really get to our full level. We did, maybe, in the second half of the first leg at the Etihad – if we did that for the other three-quarters of the tie, we would have given ourselves a chance but it is difficult at the top, top level.Juventus have done fantastically, these are the two top teams at the moment,” said Hart.
